How this calculator works
Measure each straight countertop section as its own rectangle and add the results. Islands, peninsulas and backsplashes should be measured separately if they are part of the material quote.
A countertop section 10 ft long and 2 ft deep is 20 sq ft.

Countertop Square Footage Calculator FAQs
Should I subtract the sink cut-out from countertop square footage?
Usually not for material-ordering purposes because the countertop piece is fabricated from material that covers the full section before the sink opening is cut.
How do I measure an L-shaped countertop?
Split the L shape into two rectangles, calculate each area and make sure the overlapping corner is not counted twice.
Are backsplashes included?
Only if you measure and add them separately. A backsplash uses additional material even when it matches the countertop.
Does square footage tell me how many stone slabs I need?
Not by itself. Slab dimensions, veining direction, seams and cut layout determine how many full slabs are required.
